Directions: Address is 285 Pine Run Church Road, Apollo, PA 15613. From Greenburg, take Rt 66 north to the Rt 22 intersection. From the intersection 1578 underpass continue on Rt 66 for 10.9 miles and turn left onto Pine Run Church Road. Go 0.9 miles and at the bottom of the hill, turn right onto Pine Run Road. The park entrance is 100 yards on the right.

Description: We missed our 40th anniversary celebration last year because of you-know-what, so please mark your calendars for our social event of the year, 2pm-dusk. We plan to eat at 3:30 pm, bats and moths will fly at dusk. We’ll probably squeeze in a nature walk before or after dinner. This scenic day-use park in Washington Township, Westmoreland County, is very well maintained since it adjoins the township municipal building and police station. Pavilion #2 is a newer construction with 10-11 tables. It is very shaded, has many electrical outlets, a water fountain, plenty of close parking, and is next to modern restrooms. The park itself has fields, a stream, and a 1.1 mile looping nature trail around a meadow bordered by woods. The club is hosting this picnic and will provide pulled pork sandwiches. Please bring your own drinks, a side dish or dessert to share, and maybe a comfy chair (those pavilion benches can get hard). Alcohol is permitted, but NO glass containers. Please RSVP to Denny McCarthy by July 17 so we can get the right amount of pulled pork.
