Meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Sara Steel Access

Directions: From the intersection of routes U.S. 22 and PA 819, travel north 4.5 miles on 819 to Slickville and turn right onto Main Street.  Continue 2.5 miles on Main Street and turn right onto Bortz Road and immediately right onto Maple Lodge Road, then right again into the access area.  GPS address is 40°27’45.0″N 79°28’55.1″W

Description: We will walk this section of the trail out and back either northeast toward Saltsburg, partially along Loyalhanna Creek or west toward Slickville.  This should be the beginning of the peak time for spring wildflowers and migration movements for warblers and vireos.
